The words “sursum corda” are taken from the ancient opening spoken at the Christian celebration of the Lord’s Supper. Today, as we gather around the table, we hear the leader call out, ‘lift up your hearts,’ to which we respond, ‘we lift them to the Lord.’

Sursum Corda Creations is an extension of that response, both to God and to the Church, wherein ‘I lift up my heart,’ my gifts, my spirit, my life ... my whole self.

From early in its history, the church has adopted, adapted and preserved the clothing of the time for its own use. Over the years, these pieces of clothing became invested with their own special meanings and their varied uses became prescribed. Throughout the centuries, vestment makers have continued to create these unique articles of clothing for the use of the church. I am blessed and humbled to stand in that ancient tradition.

On these pages you will find vestments ranging from the very simple to the very ornate. I have designed and made each of them with a particular person in mind, and every piece is as unique as the person for whom it was created. I have made chasubles, dalmatics, stoles, preaching scarves, surplices, and copes many of which are pictured on the Products page. Yours could be next. I also offer vestment repairs.

For churches and / or individuals who place a priority on 'green' initiatives and environmental sustainability, I offer vestments made with organic materials.
